We want to ensure that we are developing skilled technical personnel able to respond to the demands of an exciting business and become the future technical leaders focusing on Quality Auditing, Process development, technical services or Factory technical work.

As such, this role is perfect for any Food Science graduates that have a passion for food and are keen to learn about all of the moving parts that go into making our food safe for consumers.

We’re looking for our next generation of Technical graduates to develop and grow a career with Greencore. You will provide technical support to our many sites while developing your skills in key aspects of the Technical function. You will have the opportunity to gain experience across a number of a sites to become a multi-skilled technical professional, with experience in a breadth of environments.

What you'll be doing

You will complete two placements in technical functions at a minimum of two sites over an 18-24 month period. You will develop and own a project plan at each placement site providing experience in our Quality, Process, Hygiene and/or Technical Services functions.

Your responsibilities could include:

  • Sample, test, audit and monitor to verify that all processes, procedures and products are being manufactured in a safe & compliant manner
  • Plan, prepare and conduct factory trials which involve running our products through a factory line to check that they are suitable for large scale manufacturing.
  • Undertake recipe/ingredient validation and packaging tests in line with Technical procedures
  • Plan and execute audits ensuing we are adhering to customer and legal requirements
  • Collate, investigate and report on queries that come in from our retailer customers

You’ll have the opportunity to attend group training courses in technical and non-technical skills and you will be assigned a mentor who will support you in your development throughout the scheme. You’ll also get to network with other technical graduates in the business and attend external events to help you develop your network in the wider industry.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for individuals with a degree or MSc in a Food Science/Technology or other science-related disciplines. Candidates will stand out if they have a real interest or passion in the food industry and a keen eye for detail. You’ll enjoy communicating with others as this will be a key part of the job, working in a team each day to ensure our food is manufactured in a safe way.

You’ll have a can do attitude, be organised, resilient to change and confident, with a passion for personal development.

As this role provides the opportunity to work at different sites as part of your rotation, you will need to be geographically flexible and open to travelling.
