We produce coleslaw, potato salad, salad bar bulk products (2kg), pasta salads and couscous/grains for some of the biggest retailers in the UK including Morrisons, Co-op, Asda, Aldi, Lidl, Sainsbury’s, KFC, Nando’s, Pizza Hut and Costco. Our Spalding site has a restaurant with hot food available to all our colleagues.
What you'll be doing
We are looking for batchers, mixers, spice blenders, mayonnaise blenders and cooks for various ingredients!
We are looking for experienced Factory Operatives to work in our prep and mixing departments on a stationary 3 day working shift. The shifts available are Sunday – Tuesday or Wednesday – Friday 18:00 – 06:00 at £13.47.
The role will involve:
- Pre-start up and safety checks.
- The ability to understand and read recipes.
- Differentiate between different product components.
- Accurate weighing of ingredients and understanding of weights and measures.
- Attention to detail.
- Understand and follow the correct cooking/mixing methodology/process as per recipe.
- Filling out paperwork to a good legible standard.
- Work in a clean manner – clean as you go.
- Visual hygiene checks.
- Manual Handling.
- Other duties as required.
Working within an exciting and fast paced environment, you will be a key member of our team and will ensure the service we provide to our customer is of exceptional quality. The role can be physically demanding with a good amount of pushing, pulling and lifting involved.
There are various roles within the department that you will be required to learn ranging from the weighing out and batching of spice kits, cooking of pasta, pulses, rice and vegetables and blending of ingredients to form finished mixes and mayonnaise.
The mixing/blending is the more skilled side of the role which involves the batching and weighing of ingredients into large bins, then transferring via a mechanical lift into an industrial paddle mixer for a specific duration, then into bins for the Filling Lines, whilst filling out all checks. A similar process is required for mixing/blending of mayonnaise which is made daily to supply the factory.
The operative would need a good level of knowledge and understanding of mixing machinery, although full training would be given.
