What you'll be doing
As a Health & Safety Advisor you will be expected to provide professional guidance to all functions on operational Health, Safety and Environment activities ensuring alignment with Group and Divisional policy.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain the Health, Safety and Environment systems to ensure the adherence to all relevant Health, Safety and Environment legislation and agreed internal standards.
- Conduct routine risk assessments across the site to ensure that all operational risks are identified and adequately controlled.
- Lead and undertake internal audits and inspections against the sites management systems and agreed internal standards.
- Deliver Health, Safety and Environmental training to meet the locations learning and development plans and to support the Greencore Way principle of keeping people healthy and safe.
- Increase health and safety competence of managers and staff in the business through coaching and guidance, providing training opportunities to ensure staff remain current and competent health and safety practices and promote the continual development of the sites HSE culture.
- Support in maintaining the sites Health, Safety and Environmental management system to ensure adherence to relevant legislation and Greencore Group standards.
- Support management through investigations of incidents and accidents to ensure root cause analysis and effective preventative and corrective actions.
- Proactively advise operational functions to ensure the delivery of the sites annual targets and objectives and completion of departmental improvement plans.

- Holds a national or professional qualification in Health & Safety. (E.g., NEBOSH General Certificate).
- Previous experience of operational Health and Safety essential
- Previous experience/qualification in Environment desirable.
- Up to date knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and its practical application.
- Experience communicating, engaging, and working with colleagues from all levels of the business.
