­­­­­­­­­­Here at Spalding, we have a team of around 540 colleagues. We produce coleslaw, potato salad, salad bar bulk products (2kg), pasta salads and couscous/grains for some of the biggest retailers in the UK including Morrisons, Co-op, Asda, Aldi, Lidl, Sainsbury’s, KFC, Nando’s, Pizza Hut and Costco. Our Spalding site has a restaurant with hot food available to all our colleagues.

What you'll be doing

To provide leadership in the day to day running of the Despatch Area managing approx.10 people. As well as maintain a safe working environment you will ensure all picks are completed to meet outload deadlines.


  • Health and Safety and Safe working practices are a priority
  • Ensure all picks are completed to meet outload deadlines
  • Build close relationships with key stakeholders within the factory
  • Complete and update daily labour figures.
  • Managing sickness/Absence/RTW etc
  • Building team and skills within the team to ensure multi skilled
  • Maintain shift rota, fire registers and PPE sheets for all staff.
  • Liaise with external Hauliers for pallet collection and booking of collections.
  • Report MHE breakdowns,
  • Ensure Dates & Stock checks are completed.                       
  • Ensure sufficient staffing levels in advance of the shift
  • Measuring individual pick rates accuracy and breaks
  • Area GMP and fabrication
  • Step in where required when short of skills
  • Anything else within the capability of the job holder

  • Must have a good and a confident manner as will be dealing with outside agencies on behalf of Greencore.
  • Good level of both spoken and written English.
  • Good level of numeracy
  • Good level in Microsoft word excels and general computer use.
  • Level 2 in Health & Safety and health & Hygiene is desirable but not essential as training will be given.
  • Experience of the food industry would be preferably but not essential.
  • Training will take approximately 3 months.to become fully competent
  • They will be requirement to attended regular training sessions.
  • SEMA trained preferred but not essential.

Please note:

- This a Shop floor base position as well as office based the split will be 60% shop floor 40% office.

- Due to the nature of the industry, you will be working in a cold store so must be able to work in a cold environment temp 1-5. Appropriate PPE will be provided.
