Shipping and Receiving Clerk

Job Introduction

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk performs the shipment of finished goods in compliance with established procedures

Role Responsibility

What you’ll be doing:

  • Accurately completing shipping records and related documentation
  • Perform finished goods inspections per approved procedures
  • Organize department daily activities
  • Coordinate and schedules the shipments of finished goods with Customer Project Coordinator's and Carrier's
  • Interface with carrier personnel
  • Maintain finished goods warehouse area
  • Perform job operations utilizing a data management system
  • Assist in training department personnel
  • Initiate and reports unusual conditions to Management
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area
  • Comply with standard operating procedures, GMP's and safety guidelines

The Ideal Candidate

What you’ll need:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
