Sanitation Technician

Job Introduction

A Sanitation Technician is responsible for following standard operating procedures, perform cleaning on production equipment to ensure safety and hygiene.  May record information to reflect sanitation activities and issues.  Advises and updates supervisor/manager of progress and /or other non-routine issues.

  • Follows established procedures in the cleaning and sanitation of idle production equipment as directed by supervisor/manager
  • Completes required reporting to reflect activity of tasks and other items required
  • Advises supervisor when supplies need to be ordered

The Ideal Candidate

What you’ll need:

A high school diploma or GED certification and be at least 18 years of age, required. Previous sanitation experience in a production operation preferred. Must be able to read and write and answer basic question in English.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is subject to standing for prolonged periods; frequently walks, grasps,  lifts, holds, or feels objects; occasionally stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls.  The employee frequently is required to use manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination when working and handling products or machinery. The employee is subject to assist and support up to 90 pounds with varying amounts of assistance on a reoccurring basis.  The employee is required to have corrected vision and hearing within normal range and the ability to operate equipment. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and non-moving mechanical parts. The employee could have work conditions that are extremely cold or extremely hot. The employee is exposed to wet conditions on a regular basis and will work on wet floors on a regular basis.  The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
