Operations Manager

Job Introduction

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager to join our team in Leeds. The role of Operations Manager will require you to have responsibility for leading the operations function across the site / manufacturing unit, ensuring that KPI’s are achieved, meeting the operational objectives and exceed customer expectations. The successful candidate will also play a pivotal part in Business Improvement across all aspects of the site. 

Role Responsibility

  • You will contribute to the development and implement of the manufacturing unit business plan to achieve the manufacturing unit EBIT/Productivity Objectives
  • Control manufacturing spend, within sign off limits, to ensure that costs are aligned with business requirements and the agreed budget
  • Co-ordinate, and take corrective action, to ensure all elements of operations are integrated and being utilised through cost efficient processes which deliver product to manufacturing food safety and customer standards
  • Implement SHE plan/performance across the operational teams to enhance employee’s health and safety wellbeing in the workplace
  • Identify and prioritise of capex projects that deliver the efficiency plan
  • Consult and advise with relevant departments to ensure the effective and efficient use of all new capital investment
    projects/machinery to deliver best operational advantage
  • Provide inspirational leadership and direction to the operational community to ensure that people are kept safe engaged, focused and delivering to their potential

The Ideal Candidate

  • A good standard of educational achievement, either through full time further education or gained as a work based apprentice
  • Previous experience of leading manufacturing teams in an FMCG environment.
  • Previous experience of working with customers and being accountability for customer service
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Capability to plan and implement initiatives in a complex organisation
  • Sound knowledge of modern manufacturing methodologies and systems planning
  • Green Belt Six Sigma Certified would be advantageous 
  • Level Three Health and Safety - IOSH
  • Legionella Duty Holder Awareness as Deputy
