Network Planner

Our vast direct-to-store (DTS) distribution network, comprising of 16 depots nationwide, enables us to make over 7,500 deliveries of our own chilled produce and that of third parties every day. Our delivery drivers supply petrol station forecasts and smaller convenience stores keeping the nation fed.

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Network Planner/Logistics Scheduler to join our central DTS team.

What you'll be doing

Your role will focus on forecasting, scheduling and routing, playing a key role in the successful delivery operations of our 16 delivery depots across the UK. This will include:

  • Executing, interpreting and maintaining modelling software to ensure accuracy of inputs and outputs
  • Liaising with Depot Managers and Transport Managers to assess current routes
  • Maintaining routes, adding new stores, removing closed ones
  • Assisting on solutions for new business projects and reviewing effects on current business
  • Working with Depot and Operational Teams to resolve problems and support implementations
  • Developing suitable reports to be shared with internal stakeholders
  • Supplying information for strategic analysis

What we’re looking for

Are you somebody who:

  • Has some previous experience of the Logistics/Supply Chain function in a fast moving environment 
  • Consistently ensures a high accuracy of information and data, paying close attention to detail
  • Can work to complete tasks successfully within given timescales
  • Has a high degree of PC literacy (Excel, Databases)
  • Has excellent numeracy skills
  • Is able to use route optimisation or planning software ideally DPS
  • Is self motivated to work on your own initiative, a team player with communication skills
  • Holds a Degree or has 2/3 years distribution experience (desirable)
